Matthew Perry, the beloved comedian and actor who brought Chandler Bing to life on "Friends," would have turned 55 this year. Even though he is no longer with us, his presence is still deeply felt by fans and friends alike.
On Monday, Aug. 19, the Friends Instagram paid tribute to the late star, sharing, "On this day, we remember the light that was Matthew Perry."
The post included a photo of Perry, who starred on the hit NBC sitcom alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.

Perry died on Oct. 28, 2023 from an accidental drug overdose that led to a drowning at his home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles.
At the time, the Friends cast released a joint statement to PEOPLE honoring him."We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family," their statement read. "There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.
"
"In time we will say more, as and when we are able," it continued. "For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.
