Hollywood is full of unexpected connections and near misses, and the latest revelation involves none other than "Full House" heartthrob John Stamos and actress Kristen Bell. On a recent episode of Dax Shepard's podcast "Armchair Expert," Stamos dropped a bombshell: he was almost set up on a date with Bell long before she met her now-husband.
A Missed Connection
John Stamos, while fresh off his divorce from actress Rebecca Romijn, was allegedly set up with Kristen Bell by a press agent. As John recounted on Dax Shepard's "Armchair Expert" podcast, the press agent thought the two would be a great match: "There’s this girl that wants to meet you.
You gotta meet her. She’s in the theater. She’s fun, you guys would be great together."
However, John, in a moment of self-doubt, felt he was "too old" for Kristen, who is 17 years his junior. "I just was so lofty, and I thought, ‘I’m old. ’ But then I got over that," he quipped, referencing his current wife Caitlin McHugh Stamos, who is 23 years younger.

John's hesitancy with Kristen proved to be a blessing in disguise. He eventually met Caitlin McHugh Stamos on the set of "Law & Order: SVU" and the two hit it off.
