Akira Toriyama (鳥山明, Toriyama Akira) was born on 5 April 1955 in Aichi, Japan. He is a famous Japanese manga artist, and his best-known work, Arale , and his masterpiece Dragon Ball (龍珠), are extremely popular and widely acclaimed all over the world.

His works are serialised in Shueisha's manga magazine Weekly Shonen JUMP, where he is always ranked number one in popularity, and is one of the absolute ace mainstays of the manga industry.
He is very popular with readers of all ages, and also influences many future generations of manga artists, directors and other characters.
His manga is even in the textbooks for his wonderful subplot.

In fact, apart from the well-known Dragon Ball series and Alara, Akira Toriyama has also drawn many other classic works, how many have you seen?
Desert Adventure
A short work by Akira Toriyama, first published in Weekly Shonen Jump from May to August 2000, with only 14 lines in its entirety, has been re-discovered after more than 20 years for film, game and toy adaptations, which I believe is beyond many people's expectations.

Set in a barren desert world, the story follows the protagonists Kaat, Bias, and their old charioteer friends as they search for water and eventually uncover the secrets of an ancient civilisation and the principles of how hologram cards are made.
