Kyu was never meant to live a life of joy. From the very beginning, his parents viewed him as a cursed child. His father, particularly, saw him as a demon, treating him with cruelty that grew darker with each passing year. “You’re the devil’s spawn,” his father would sneer. The emotional and physical abuse intensified until one day, Kyu’s father had a twisted plan to send him to a fantasy world—a world of pure despair. But before the sinister act could take place, Kyu ran.

Running led him into another nightmare: the lifeless bodies of his friends were scattered outside. In a moment of horrific pain, his father stabbed him. Yet, Kyu survived, driven by sheer will to escape his tormenting household. Homeless and broken, the only refuge he found was a dingy orphanage in the city's ghetto.
At the orphanage, Kyu met Mik, a boy who offered him a lifeline. “I’ll be your family now,” Mik said, extending a hand of hope.
Although Kyu carried scars from a lifetime of abuse—his mother had taken her own life, blaming herself for giving birth to him—he accepted Mik’s offer.
