The Turning Point: Convincing Charlie
Denise Richards has recently opened up about a pivotal moment in her ex-husband Charlie Sheen's career. According to Richards, she played a significant role in convincing Sheen to take on the iconic role of Charlie Harper in the hit CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men. "He was initially hesitant," Richards shared on the Just B with Bethenny Frankel podcast. "I read the script and told him, 'You'd be crazy not to do this show.'"

At the time, Sheen was at a crossroads in his career, uncertain about diving into another TV project after the cancellation of Spin City. However, Richards' encouragement proved to be a game-changer, leading to Sheen's eight-season run on the show, which earned him numerous accolades, including Golden Globe and Emmy nominations.

Success and Its Consequences
While Two and a Half Men catapulted Sheen to new heights of fame and financial success, Richards believes it also contributed to his struggles with sobriety.
"The success of the show and the money that came with it, I think, led to him relapsing," she explained. Richards noted that Sheen, who had been sober when they met, began to change as the pressures of the show mounted.
