Stepping Into the Spotlight
Wallace Sititi, the All Blacks' new number eight, couldn't contain his excitement as he made his Test debut, joining the ranks of his rugby idols. The young player, who caught everyone's attention with his performance in the Super Rugby Pacific final, was a late addition to the squad. "It's surreal," Sititi shared, his eyes gleaming with pride. "Being on the same team as Ardie Savea, Jerome Kaino, and Ben Smith is beyond my wildest dreams."
A Family Affair
The debut was even more special with Sititi's parents in the crowd, cheering him on. "Having my parents here means everything," he said. "My dad, who captained Samoa, told me to enjoy the moment and play my game. His advice kept me grounded." Sititi's father, Semo Sititi, is a rugby legend in his own right, and his presence added an emotional layer to the occasion.
Learning from the Best
Sititi was subbed in for Savea during the All Blacks' victory in San Diego, a moment that left him in awe. "I was sitting next to Ardie, singing the national anthem, and I couldn't believe it," he laughed.
