Get ready for a dramatic shake-up in Salem, as the long-running soap opera, Days of our Lives, enters a new chapter. After a seven-year reign, Ron Carlivati is stepping down as the show's head writer, leaving fans wondering what the future holds for the beloved series.
The Changing of the Guard
According to a Days of our Lives spokesperson, Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford have taken the reins as the new head writers, with their first episodes hitting the airwaves immediately. Carlivati's departure will be felt for some time, with his final episodes set to air in April 2025 due to the show's unique taping schedule.

This isn't the first time Cwikly has graced the halls of Days of our Lives. She held both associate and head writer positions in the early 2000s, bringing a wealth of experience and familiarity to her new role. Ford, already a part of the writing team as a breakdown writer, also brings a long history with Days of our Lives, having started her career as a writer's assistant back in 1992.
Ken Corday, executive producer, expressed his confidence in the new writing team, stating, "We look forward to approaching our 60th Anniversary next year with Paula and Jeanne Marie at the helm and fresh, exciting stories that we know the fans will embrace.
" He also extended his gratitude to Carlivati, acknowledging his dedication and respect for the show's legacy.
