When CBS announced that the 14th season of Blue Bloods would be its last, fans were devastated. The series, led by Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, and Will Estes, had become a beloved staple in many households. The presidents of CBS Entertainment and CBS Studios called the show a "beloved part of CBS' legacy" and expressed their gratitude to the cast and crew in a heartfelt press release.

Despite the cancellation, there’s a glimmer of hope for Blue Bloods fans. During a Paramount stockholders meeting on June 4, co-CEO Brian Robbins revealed that "new franchise extensions are coming" for several Paramount TV shows, including Blue Bloods. This news comes as a beacon of hope for fans who were not ready to say goodbye to the Reagan family just yet.
Tom Selleck, who has played family patriarch Frank Reagan throughout the show's run, shared his sentiments on the show’s impact.
"It’s been an honor and a privilege to work on a show that not only celebrates the men and women who protect and serve in New York City, but also displayed the importance of family," Selleck stated.
