They battled demons and saved the world on Supernatural, but behind the scenes, Jared Padalecki and Genevieve Cortese were falling in love. Theirs is a real-life fairytale romance that began on set and continues to flourish, both on and off the screen.
It was on the set of Supernatural in 2008 that fate brought these two together. Genevieve joined the cast as the demon Ruby, and sparks flew between her and Jared, who played the heroic Sam Winchester.
Fans couldn’t help but notice their undeniable chemistry, and it turns out, their connection was the real deal.
“What made it work is that we got to know each other for about four months before we went on a date,” Jared later revealed, confirming that their love story wasn't just for the cameras.
Genevieve echoed this sentiment, stating, "We met working together, and it's how we fell in love, was working together. I honestly feel like we are at our best when we are working together."
Jared's proposal to Genevieve in 2009 was straight out of a romantic comedy. He popped the question in front of their favorite painting, “Joan of Arc” by Jules Bastien-Lepage, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
