Iain Armitage, the young star of "Young Sheldon," recently met up with his on-screen counterpart, Jim Parsons, who portrayed Sheldon Cooper in "The Big Bang Theory." Parsons is currently starring in the Broadway play "Mother Play - A Play in Five Evictions," alongside Jessica Lange and Celia Keenan-Bolger. Armitage was full of praise for Parsons' performance, calling it "incredible" and "wonderful." On the May 16 episode of "Live with Kelly and Mark," Armitage highlighted Parsons' ability to distance himself from his iconic TV role, noting, “When I watch him on stage, I’m not watching Sheldon, I’m seeing him as his character, which is so impressive.

The admiration is mutual, as evidenced by Armitage’s glowing Instagram post after seeing Parsons' performance. "First stop in NYC was to see @therealjimparsons in this part that earned him a Tony nomination! He was excellent and so was everyone," Armitage wrote. He even shared a quirky moment about buying a jacket in New York, only to realize he and Parsons had both worn it on-screen as Sheldon.
“To recap, this is the last week new episodes are airing and I go out and purchase clothes that Sheldon would wear AND go to see the OG Sheldon himself,” he added, reflecting on his time portraying the young Sheldon Cooper.
