The conclusion of Game of Thrones was one of the most anticipated events in television history, yet it left many fans, and even some cast members, dissatisfied. Among them was Lena Headey, the actress who brilliantly portrayed the villainous Cersei Lannister. But what exactly about the ending did she dislike so intensely?

Lena Headey had envisioned a different, more dramatic end for her character. In her ideal scenario, there would have been a showdown between Cersei and Arya Stark, perhaps with Arya disguised as Jaime Lannister, which would have provided a shocking twist and poetic justice. This, however, was not the direction the showrunners chose to take.
In the show's penultimate episode, Cersei’s fate was sealed in a much less dramatic fashion. As Daenerys Targaryen unleashed her fury on King’s Landing, Cersei and Jaime Lannister were buried alive under the collapsing Red Keep.
