Four years after the Supernatural series finale left fans reeling, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki are opening up about Dean Winchester's divisive death. While some viewers felt cheated by the abrupt ending, others saw it as a poignant conclusion to Dean’s journey.

During a recent Supernatural convention in Austin, Texas, Ackles and Padalecki addressed the elephant in the room: Dean’s unceremonious demise in a seemingly routine monster hunt.
"Yes, I am happy," Ackles, who played the elder Winchester brother for fifteen seasons, declared. "I think it had to be him going out, doing what he was made to be doing, doing what he loved to be doing."
He went on to explain why this particular death scene, despite its lack of fanfare, felt fitting for Dean: "Getting sick or getting debilitated in a way that made him fall down or on a deathbed or anything like that, I don’t think was as powerful as him actually standing up and looking at his brother eye to eye.
So I was happy with how that worked out.”
Padalecki, who played Dean’s younger brother, Sam, echoed Ackles' sentiments, adding a layer of philosophical depth to the narrative decision.
