"Blue Bloods" fans were left in shock when CBS announced in December 2023 that the upcoming Season 14 would be the show's final season. The news didn't sit well with the show's dedicated fanbase or its stars. Petitions quickly emerged, and cast members, especially Tom Selleck, were vocal in their disappointment and efforts to save the series.
In a recent interview with Country Living, Tom Selleck, the show's patriarch both on and off-screen, confirmed that "Blue Bloods" will return for a 15th season.
He explained, "They announced Season 14 was gonna be our last season. But what people don’t realize is, we’re gonna do a 15th season. We’re doing a 10-show season, like all the other shows because of the strike, for the 14th season. And we’ll do eight shows in the fall, the premiere of our 15th season". This strategic move redefines the show’s final chapter, splitting Season 14 into two parts and extending its life.

Despite this compromise, Selleck continues his crusade against the cancellation. In his own words, he remains hopeful that CBS will reconsider its decision.
