The Dutton family saga is about to take a “darker” turn in the upcoming Season 2 of 1923.
Brandon Sklenar, who plays the adventurous Spencer Dutton, has revealed some hints about what’s in store.
Since its debut in 2022, 1923 has captivated audiences with its authentic portrayal of life during a transformative era. The series follows a generation of the Dutton family as they face the hardships of Prohibition, western expansion, and the early days of the Great Depression.
The premiere shattered records for Paramount +, drawing in a whopping 7.4 million viewers!

After some delays due to last year’s writer strikes, production for Season 2 finally kicked off last month in Texas. The production team previously filmed the show in Butte, Montana, but lost its film lot “due to delays from the dual WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.” They anticipate that Season 2 of 1923 will continue until mid-September.
Buckle up for a brand-new season of 1923, which Brandon Sklenar says will be “absolutely incredible.”
During a recent chat with Forbes, Sklenar revealed that viewers should prepare for a significant shift in tone. He’ll be sharing the screen more with the legendary Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, who play Jacob and Cara Dutton. Sklenar shared:
“The tone shifts a lot, and it’s definitely a bit darker. It’s very beautiful. I do get plenty of Helen and Harrison time, and it’s going to be special.”

He said that the series finale is something fans won’t want to miss, calling it one of the best scripts he’s ever read.
Sklenar also revealed that he has known how the show ends since day one.
“Taylor [Sheridan] kind of told me. I knew the full arc of Spencer from day one, so in shooting part one, your mindful of where he needs to go. I’m really excited.”
