Padalecki, known for his down-to-earth personality and his unwavering connection with fans, was scheduled to appear at a fan convention in New Jersey last week.

"He was in a very bad car accident," Ackles revealed. "He wasn't driving, he was in the passenger seat, and he's lucky to be alive.
