Unique WWII Soviet T-34 Tank Recovered From River in Russia After Decades Underwater
In an extraordinary discovery, a Soviet T-34-76 tank, lost for over half a century, was retrieved from the depths of the Don River near the village of Ukrainskaya Builovka, Russia. This unique tank, produced at the Stalingrad Tractor Factory during World War II, is the only surviving model of its kind, making the recovery a significant moment in both Russian and military history.
The T-34 tank, submerged in the river for more than 70 years, was recovered through a collaborative effort led by experts from Patriot Park in Moscow, alongside divers and servicemen from Russia's Western Military District. Using modern technology, including a BREM-1 recovery vehicle based on the T-72 tank, the team successfully lifted the armored vehicle from its 7-meter deep resting place.
