1. Get Your Car in Top Shape
Before you even think about the test, make sure your car is road-ready. This means:
1.1 Documents at Hand: Ensure your registration, insurance, and other required documents are easily accessible. Keep your tires properly inflated and check that all lights, including indicators, are functioning. Your windshield wipers should be in good working order with the washer reservoir filled.
1.2 No Cracks Allowed: The windshield should be free of cracks. Also, make sure your car isn’t emitting excessive smoke, as this could lead to a test failure if the examiner deems your vehicle unsafe.
1.3 Comfort and Control: Adjust your seat so you’re comfortably 10 inches (25 cm) from the steering wheel. Your hands should rest at the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock positions, with your arms bent at about 45 degrees.
