oday, we’re addressing a challenging grooming situation with a dog in dire need of care. This poor pup was found in rough shape, heavily infested with ticks, and is now set to receive much-needed grooming and treatment.
Initial Assessment and Preparation
Upon arrival, it’s clear the dog is distressed and in poor condition. The ticks covering him are a major concern, so our first step is to evaluate his behavior and get him ready for grooming. Since the dog appears friendly but may react unpredictably, we need to handle him with care.
I’m lifting him onto the grooming table, but given his condition and potential discomfort, it’s important to ensure he feels secure and comfortable throughout the process.

Dealing with Ticks
Our primary task is to address the ticks. Ticks can pose serious health risks, both to dogs and humans, so we’re using gloves and taking precautions to prevent any potential spread of disease. The initial stage involves carefully removing the visible ticks using hemostats.
We’ve already managed to remove some and are using ethanol to preserve them for safe disposal.
Ticks can be challenging to remove, especially the smaller ones.
