Incorporating Sheldon into Young Sheldon season 7 was initially a challenge, but The Big Bang Theory's Germany plot line has cleverly tackled this issue. With the final season of The Big Bang Theory prequel, Young Sheldon season 7 has a lot of ground to cover. The canon plot points from The Big Bang Theory, such as George Sr's affair, sudden death, Meemaw's personality change, and Georgie's divorce from Mandy need to be addressed. Fortunately, Young Sheldon has already avoided one plot hole by spinning off Mandy and Georgie for their own show.
This allows Young Sheldon season 7 to focus on the Cooper family's storylines without explaining their relationship in just 14 episodes. By separating Sheldon from the family in the first three episodes of season 7, Young Sheldon has managed to maintain a balance between Sheldon's silly adventures in Germany and the more serious, dramatic plots of the Cooper family. This geographical distance has allowed Sheldon to have zany storylines without overshadowing the rest of the family's narrative. However, bringing Sheldon back to Texas to address George Sr's death will pose a challenge for the show's tone and character dynamics.
It remains to be seen how Young Sheldon will handle Sheldon's return without disrupting the balance of the series.
