The Controversial Comic Book Store Job
Since Young Sheldon wrapped up two weeks ago, fans on Reddit have been quick to point out numerous plot holes. While most inconsistencies center around details from The Big Bang Theory, one particular plot hole involving Missy Cooper has caused quite a stir.

In the series, Missy is seen working at a comic book store at the age of 12. A Reddit user posted a screenshot of Missy on the job, asking, "How did Missy get a job at the comic book store? Isn’t she like 11 or 12? Is that legal?" This sparked a heated debate about the legality and realism of Missy’s employment.
Fans Weigh In
One fan countered, suggesting Missy could actually be 13 or 14, which might be acceptable for a few hours of work in rural Texas during the 90s. "It was rural Texas in the 90s," they explained. "If her parents permitted it, working a few hours for extra money wouldn’t be out of the question."

Another user added, "There have been strict child labor laws since before that time, but at 13, working a few hours per week with parental permission wasn't illegal in 1990s Texas.
However, overtime would likely require parental consent."
Yet another fan chimed in with a more cynical view: "This is Texas, in the 90s. Labour laws are just suggestions.
