Television's biggest drama, Yellowstone, is also the television industry's biggest rollercoaster. Paramount Network's hit Western was expected to ride into a record-ratings sunset, but instead, it's been more of a bucking bronco that can't be tamed. Season 5, which has been on hiatus since January 2023, is set to be the show's final season. While fans always knew the end would be near, the suddenness of it has left many stunned. Star Kevin Costner's involvement in the final episodes is not looking promising as the actor moves on to a new passion project of his own โ a series of Western films โ which became the driving force behind the series ending.
But amidst the sadness, there's a glimmer of hope: Yellowstone Season 5 is back on the horse and has already begun production, reaching a whole new audience while airing on CBS.
Unfinished Business at the Ranch
As the final season unfolds, there's a lot of unfinished business to take care of. Civil war has broken out among the Duttons, with Jamie and Beth at each other's throats, and John at risk of being impeached. Meanwhile, a devastating illness is spreading through Montana wildlife, endangering the Duttons' cattle.
Yellowstone's Highly Anticipated Return
At long last, the wait is over: Yellowstone is FINALLY back in business, after more than 17 months off the air.
