On Sunday morning, August 11th, worshippers at a Nashville-area church received an unexpected delight when country music superstar Carrie Underwood made a surprise appearance. As the choir was about to begin, the congregation was stunned to see Underwood stepping onto the stage to join the worship team.
Carrie Underwood, alongside her husband, retired NHL professional player Mike Fisher, has never been shy about expressing their Christian faith. Both are deeply rooted in their religious upbringing; Carrie hails from Checotah, Oklahoma, where she first showcased her singing talent at her hometown church.
This grounding in a faith-based community instilled in her a strong conviction to raise their two sons, Isaiah and Jacob, within the church environment.

“Mike and I do all we can to raise our two boys with values like the ones I grew up with in Checotah,” Underwood explained. “Down-to-earth, church on Sundays, plenty of grass and trees and space outside for them to roam. At night, when we put the boys to bed, we pray out loud with them.
Just talking to God, letting them know he hears their every word.”In 2021, the American Idol champ released her first hymns-only album, a project titled “My Savior” that includes 13 tracks that she grew up singing in church.
