The Winchesters are back, and this time, family secrets run deeper than the pits of hell. "Mother's Little Helper" throws us headfirst into the aftermath of the Winchester brothers' quest for the First Blade. Dean, sporting a fresh case of insomnia and haunted by the Blade's power, is drowning his sorrows in research and cheap whiskey. Sam, ever the watchful brother, senses Dean's inner turmoil but struggles to penetrate the wall Dean has erected around himself.
Dean Suffers Flashbacks
"Dean, you haven't slept in two days," Sam states, concern etched on his face. "You're obsessed with Abaddon, even more than usual."
Dean, bloodshot eyes glued to a dusty tome, simply shrugs. "Obsessed? Sammy, this is called dedication. We need the First Blade to stop that bitch, and I'm gonna make sure we're ready."
The truth is, Dean is far from ready. The Mark of Cain, a burning brand on his soul, throbs in sinister harmony with the First Blade.
He's plagued by fragmented memories, flashes of a past he can't quite grasp. A younger version of himself, wielding a gun, a grimace of grim determination twisting his features.
