As gears up for its 21st season, the recently released trailer is stirring up plenty of fan speculation and excitement. With key characters facing new challenges, the absence of one character has sparked a major question: What happened to Lucas Adams? His conspicuous absence could hint at significant storylines that could shape the upcoming season.
Season 20 ended with several cliffhangers, but none more critical than the fate of Lucas Adams.
The surgical intern, played by Niko Terho, found himself in hot water after his involvement in an incident that led to the death of a patient, Sam Sutton. This incident led the Grey Sloan Memorial administration to consider Lucas's dismissal, with the final decision seemingly in the hands of Catherine Fox. Although Lucas managed to secure a spot at the Heart Center of Chicago for his second-year residency, his future at Grey Sloan was uncertain.
In the trailer for Season 21, we see many familiar faces from the intern class continuing their journey at Grey Sloan Memorial, but Lucas is nowhere to be found.
