The news hit "Blue Bloods" fans like a gut punch: the beloved police procedural, a staple on CBS for over a decade, is ending with its upcoming 15th season. While many hoped for the show to continue, the reality is setting in, and for star Abigail Hawk, the emotions are running high.
A Farewell Filled with Hope and Heartache
Abigail, who plays Detective Abigail Baker, the loyal and steadfast member of the Police Commissioner's squad, revealed the bittersweet truth about the show's ending during an interview on the "Think Big With Michael Zellner" podcast.
"It is starting to become very real, we have three episodes left to film," she shared with a hint of melancholy in her voice.

"CBS did make the announcement that despite our pleas, crew pleas, fan pleas, it will not [be renewed], but of course hope never dies, it springs eternal and you never know but I think it’s been a nice dose of reality that it is ending. So I am expecting the lows but after lows comes the highs.
"
While acknowledging the sadness that comes with saying goodbye, Abigail also expressed a glimmer of hope that another network might see the value in "Blue Bloods" and pick up the show for further seasons.
