In the heart of Norway's rugged woods, a group of dedicated metal detectorists, including myself, Viking Y, and friends, embarked on a thrilling quest to unearth World War II relics. Our mission: to discover artifacts from the tumultuous period of the Second World War, a task that promises both challenge and excitement.
A New Adventure Begins
We gathered early, energized and ready for a day of searching. Despite the lack of sleep, our enthusiasm was high. Our team included Ben, who was diligently scouting the area, and Jürgen, whose experience added depth to our efforts.
The goal for the day was clear: find personal items from World War II, such as canteen rings and military buttons.

Initial Finds and Discoveries
Our search led us to an area with signs of past activity. I began by exploring a site with a history of burned trash, a common practice during wartime. This spot, known as a “dump” from the war era, revealed a mix of glass shards and charred debris. The unmistakable odor of
burnt diesel filled the air, hinting at the site's historical significance.
Among the finds was a marked German artifact, identified by its shape and inscriptions.
