Aarti Mann, known for her role as Priya Koothrappali on "The Big Bang Theory," had an intriguing journey on the show. Initially, Mann auditioned for a completely different role. She envisioned herself in a serious genre, but fate had other plans. In an interview with Desert, she mentioned, "I had studied to become a dramatic actress, but I found myself in a comedy, and it was a delightful twist."

Chuck Lorre, the executive producer, often advised her to keep her performance simple. "Whenever we're rehearsing, I'll try to play it in a more comedic way, and Chuck always comes in and says, 'Play it simply. You're beautiful when you're simple.' It was a constant reminder," Mann shared. Her character, Priya, was originally meant to be engaged and about to get married, with Leonard as her final fling. However, the storyline evolved, and Priya ended up sticking around longer than planned.

Despite Priya being a controversial character who got in the way of the beloved Penny-Leonard relationship, Johnny Galecki, who played Leonard, had nothing but praise for Aarti Mann.
