For soap opera fans, Rick Hearst is best known as the conniving and complex Ric Lansing on , but there's more to this actor than just his on-screen persona. When he's not stirring up drama in Port Charles, Hearst is leading a very different life as a real estate agent in New Jersey. And he’s not shy about sharing his passion for this unexpected second career.
In a candid Instagram video, Hearst surprised his followers by revealing his side gig as a real estate agent.
“I’ve been on break from for a couple of weeks now,” Hearst explained, standing in his peaceful New Jersey backyard. “I’m in Jersey, currently, where I live. I just kind of wanted to show folks what it looks like.”
It turns out that Hearst, a native East Coaster, always felt a strong connection to his roots. “This is my blood here,” he proudly shared, gesturing to the lush greenery around him. His love for the region has fueled his passion for real estate, helping families find their dream homes or sell their properties in what he calls a “beautiful place.
”
While many fans associate Hearst with his Emmy-winning role on , his life outside of acting is far more grounded.
