In what seemed like an ordinary morning jog through the serene trails of Tanjung Aru, a woman’s routine took a horrifying twist that no one could have predicted.
For 33-year-old Mariasella Harun, the Tanjung Aru Recreational Park in Sabah, Malaysia, was a favorite place to unwind. Known for its lush greenery and peaceful ponds, it was the perfect escape from the daily grind.
However, on one fateful morning, her peaceful jog quickly transformed into a scene from a nightmare.

Mariasella was just minutes into her run when she encountered a group of animals not usually associated with violence—otters. But this wasn’t the adorable wildlife interaction she might have expected. A gang of furious otters, believed to be searching for food, suddenly charged at her with unprecedented aggression.
Witnesses described the chaos that ensued. "I saw them biting and tearing at her skin, it was horrifying," one park-goer reported, visibly shaken by the memory.
