James Michael Tyler, who played Gunther, the Central Perk barista with an unrequited love for Rachel, was a fan favorite. Known for his quirky personality and distinctive bleached hair, Tyler brought humor and heart to the series.
Sadly, he passed away in 2021 after battling prostate cancer.

The Unforgettable Mr. Treeger
Michael Hagerty, who portrayed the building's superintendent Mr. Treeger, brought both comedy and compassion to the show. His memorable moments included teaching Joey how to dance and dealing with the gang's antics. Hagerty passed away in 2022 due to complications from an infection.
