Eric Kripke, the mastermind behind the hit series "Supernatural," is weaving his magic again, this time on his R-rated Amazon Prime Video superhero drama, "The Boys." Kripke has been methodically casting stars from the iconic CW series "Supernatural" in his latest project, and he's got his eyes set on a "very big one" for Season 5 — none other than Jared Padalecki, known for his role as Sam Winchester.
Kripke shared in an interview with Variety, “He’s been busy the last few years, so schedules haven’t worked out,” referring to Padalecki’s starring role on the CW’s "Walker," which was recently canceled after four seasons.
With "Walker" out of the picture, Padalecki’s schedule has suddenly opened up, making this the perfect moment for Kripke to make his move. “I feel like I have to complete my game of ‘Supernatural’ Pokémon and I have my one big one — very big one — left to catch,” Kripke said, brimming with excitement.
So far, Kripke has brought several "Supernatural" alumni into "The Boys." Jensen Ackles, who played Dean Winchester, Sam's brother, has already made a significant impact as Soldier Boy.
Jim Beaver, known as Bobby Singer on "Supernatural," has also appeared as Robert Singer. The anticipation is building as Season 4 promises the addition of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played John Winchester, Sam and Dean’s father, in a mystery role, and Rob Benedict, who portrayed the prophet Chuck, will join as supe Splinter.
