In a raw and emotional interview on Maurice Benard's YouTube show "State of Mind," former "General Hospital" star Sarah Joy Brown bravely opened up about a harrowing experience that left her battling trauma and seeking justice.

Known for her powerful portrayal of Carly Corinthos, Brown sat down with Benard, her former co-star and friend, to discuss the lasting impact of a 2016 assault that shook her to her core.
"I can already feel that it’s gonna be super hard for me to talk about," Brown confessed, her voice trembling with emotion. "Something happened in 2016, and it blew up my life."
Benard, a staunch advocate for mental health awareness, created "State of Mind" as a platform for open and honest conversations about mental health challenges, providing a safe space for individuals to share their stories and connect with others.
Brown recounted the terrifying details of that fateful night in Brooklyn, where she found herself alone in a bar while waiting for a friend.
After a brief conversation with her friend on the phone, her memory went blank. The next morning, she woke up disoriented, dressed in unfamiliar clothing, and gripped by a pounding headache.
