Climate Activists Target Taylor Swift's Private Jet in Daring Airport Protest
What happens when a high-profile celebrity and environmental activism collide? A group of climate activists, determined to make a statement, set their sights on one of the world's biggest pop stars.
In the early hours of June 20, 2024, two climate activists from the group Just Stop Oil broke into a private airfield at Stansted Airport in London. Their target? Several private jets, including one they believed belonged to Taylor Swift.
Armed with fire extinguishers filled with bright orange paint, the activists, Jennifer Kowalski and Cole Macdonald, cut through a chain-link fence to access the airfield, where they proceeded to spray the jets with paint. Their aim was to draw attention to the environmental impact of private jets and call for an international treaty to end fossil fuel use by 2030.

The activists claimed that Taylor Swift's jet was among those at the airfield, with the superstar having recently landed in the UK for her Eras tour.
