Jonathan Jackson, the actor who played the beloved Lucky Spencer on General Hospital for over a decade, has returned to the soap opera after a long hiatus. Fans have been clamoring for his comeback, and now that he's back, everyone wants to know: why now?

"The show means so much to me on so many levels,” Jackson told Entertainment Tonight. “It’s been amazing.”

Jackson's return wasn't simply about returning to familiar sets or rekindling old friendships. It was about a homecoming, a reunion with the iconic characters who shaped his time on General Hospital.
“I grew up with Tony Geary and Genie Francis as my TV parents,” he explained. “Working with Tony and Genie, they protected me, mentored me. I just have an incredible debt of love to them.”
Geary, who played the legendary Luke Spencer, has since retired from acting, but his presence is still felt on set.
“I feel Tony Geary with me in every scene that I do,” Jackson revealed. “And I feel that way about Genie as well. Her being here was a huge part of wanting to come back.
