Hold onto your stethoscopes, "General Hospital" fans, because Lucky Spencer is back in Port Charles! Jonathan Jackson, the five-time Emmy winner who originated the role back in 1993, is returning to the soap opera that launched his career, and the anticipation is palpable.
A Long-Awaited Comeback: "Thankfully, It All Lined Up"
Jackson's return has been a long time coming, with rumors and speculation swirling for years. The actor, who has balanced his daytime drama career with a successful music career and a starring role in the primetime series "Nashville," has expressed interest in revisiting Port Charles on multiple occasions, but scheduling conflicts and creative considerations always seemed to get in the way.
"I remember talking to Frank [Valentini, executive producer] right around the time 'Nashville' was beginning [in 2012], and we were trying to figure out a way to have it work out," Jackson revealed in a recent interview.
But now, the stars have finally aligned, and Jackson is excited to step back into the shoes of the character he helped create.
