Leave it to The Boys to turn a wholesome father-son bond into a hilarious battle of wills! Jensen Ackles, who joined the cast of the Prime Video hit as the hilariously twisted Soldier Boy in Season 3, found himself fending off spoiler requests from none other than his on-screen dad from Supernatural, Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Talk about awkward family reunions!
Fans might recall that Morgan, who played Ackles’ father John Winchester on the long-running CW series, has been vocal about his desire to join the cast of The Boys. He even publicly (and playfully) negotiated a role with showrunner Eric Kripke (also the mastermind behind Supernatural) back in 2020.
So, when Ackles landed the role of Soldier Boy, Morgan was understandably eager for all the behind-the-scenes scoop.
“He kept texting me for updates [while I was] on set,” Ackles revealed in an interview.
“He was like, 'Give me spoilers!' And I was like, 'No, stop it.' He’s very convincing.”
Despite Morgan’s best efforts (and we know how persuasive that man can be!), Ackles channeled his inner Soldier Boy and held firm.
