From fighting demons on screen to battling inner darkness behind the scenes, Jared Padalecki reveals the heavy toll that Supernatural success took on his mental health.

In a raw and emotional interview on the podcast "I've Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario," Padalecki, joined by his wife Genevieve, dropped a bombshell revelation about a dark period in his life. The actor, best known for his portrayal of the stoic and strong Sam Winchester, confessed that at the height of Supernatural's popularity, he was grappling with suicidal ideation.
"It was a really low moment," Padalecki shared, his voice thick with emotion. He described feeling overwhelmed, his thoughts spiraling into dangerous territory. "I was letting my brain, my thoughts, kind of take over...going into places of like dramatic suicidal ideation."

Thankfully, Padalecki reached out for help, confiding in his wife Genevieve, who urged him to seek professional treatment.
He checked himself into a clinic, where he spent several weeks focusing on his mental well-being.
"I needed a full reset," he admitted, reflecting on his decision to prioritize his mental health.
